Online
The Online course makes access to the Academy of Orthodontic Assisting available to anyone with internet access (high-speed connection preferred). This extremely detailed step-by-step program provides an easily accessible method of learning, even with little computer experience.
The lessons and tests are easy to navigate and provide comprehensive education for those wishing to enter the field of orthodontic assisting. It also provides a cost effective continuing education format for new assistants, veteran assistants, non-clinical staff members, and others in the orthodontic industry. Participants will experience personal achievement and professional growth as they become more familiar with the fundamentals of orthodontics, as well as advance orthodontic concepts and procedures.
Our Topics page shows a complete list of the materials covered.
Online students complete all fourteen lessons in sequence, taking an online test after each one. Once students log-in to their personal Student Home Page, they can access lessons, on-line tests, and create resumes, as well as participate in the community Message Board and Chat Room. The site even tracks their progress and saves test scores. Scores are reported to the AOA Online Administrator for final certification. Students and their orthodontist employers are able to review corrected tests and monitor test scores. Each participant who successfully completes the course will be an Academy Certified Orthodontic Assistant (AOAC). Thirty (30) CE points are awarded.
